"Annie", the family entertainment tuner which began its sixth season on Broadway on April 21, shows no signs of fatigue, thanks to the splendid performance of a lively cast that works diligently.

Harve Presnell, who sometime back took over the role of Daddy Warbucks, combines just the right ingredients of harboring a heart of gold. His commanding presence and rich, robust voice, seem just right, and he makes a vivid impression.

Marcia Lewis is also an excellent choice for the role of Miss Hannigan, the bad-tempered orphanage manager who hates kids, especially little girls. Lewis is a howl, delivering a characterization that's well thought out and hilariously executed. Richard Sabellico and Dorothy Stanley give good support as Hannigan's larcenous brother and his dizzy girlfriend. The trio's rendition of "Easy Street" is still a showstopper.

Allison Smith continues to delight in a secure performance in the title role, and still scores with her vocalizing of the show's popular "Tomorrow." The remainder of the cast is fine. At its current performance level, "Annie" seems a good bet for continued b.o. action.
